PLANNING AN ITALIAN VACATION - TIPS ABOUT TRAVELLING IN ITALY.

Each country has its customs and traditions, and Italy (I think) has the highest number of them.

Are you planning an italian vacation? Follow this tips.

1) GREETING
This is the most important customs in Italy about the first meeting.
We usually greet with two kisses, from the left cheek to the right cheek, an handshake and a smile.

2) THE LANGUAGE
You know, in Italy it's hard to find someone who speaks English very well, but don't worry! You'll surely find someone who can understand what you are saying (even if English is not as common as it should be).
If you see someone who's gesticulating, don't think he/she's crazy. It's only a way to make himself understood. In Italy it's very widespread, and it's rooted in our customs and traditions.

3) THE BREAKFAST
Forget about egg, sausages, orange juice and other iper-calorific foods.
In Italy, breakfast consist in a coffee (or a cappuccino- FRAPPUCCINO does not exist) and a croissant, also called cornetto, or something else, always sweet.

4) PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
I know, I know. This is the worst lack in Italy.
Every day, thousands of coaches have delays, but do you really dispirit because of this? Italy has milions of landmarks, interess points, ecc... So visit them!

5) TRAVEL INFOS
Planning an italian vacation is easy because we have houndreds of information point in Italy, in every interesting city. So, if you want news or tips, you should visit the Enit site.

Goodmorning people!
I've decided to do a list about 30 Italian places that must be visited.
Each place will have an article and I will post twice a week. I think it's a very good idea, so, starting from next Sunday, I will post.

Hope you like it,
Matteo.

AN HOLIDAY IN VALTELLINA

Goodmornig!
I was cleaning my phone and I found this photo of an holiday I had 3 years ago. I want to share them and the feeling I had with all of you. They are great memories (and the places are so good looking).

Welcome to Valtellina, a valley near Sondrio, in the north of Italy, on the Alpes!

PAVIA

A view from Piazza della Vittoria ofthe Cathedral of Pavia!

It is a church in Pavia, the largest in the city and seat of the Diocese of Pavia
The construction was begun in the 15th century on the site of two pre-existing Romanesque, "twin" cathedrals (Santo Stefano and Santa Maria del Popolo). The cathedral houses the remains of St. Sirus, first Bishop of Pavia, and a thorn from the Crown of Thorns worn by Christ.
The marble facing of the exterior was never completed. Until recently, next to the cathedral stood the Civic Tower (Torre Civica), known in 1330 and enlarged in 1583. It collapsed on March 17 1989.
